The new Hainan Science and Technology Museum stands at 1 Tanggan Road in Xiuying District. Trial operation began on 18 December 2025, followed by the official opening on 29 April 2026.

Allow time to explore inside rather than stopping only for a photograph of the façade: approximately 3–4 hours is a sensible plan.

The main exhibitions are free: search for the 海南科技馆 mini-program in WeChat and make a reservation in your own name; foreign visitors need their passport. Slots open three days ahead. From 1 September 2026, opening days are Wednesday to Sunday, 9:30 AM–5:30 PM; Monday and Tuesday are closed. Choose a morning slot for an unhurried visit. Film screenings require a separate reservation, with conditions shown in the booking system. Older reports of no dining facilities are no longer the whole picture: the museum announced a basement restaurant for its official opening.
