Xiong’an Impression

雄安印象

Updated September 12, 2026

Xiong’an Impression is a compact exhibition centre with models, films and interactive screens about the new city’s development. It helps explain the project, while focusing largely on plans and an envisioned future. Include it in a wider visit to the area rather than travelling solely for the exhibition.

Opening hoursTuesday–Sunday 10:00–18:00; last admission 17:30. Closed Mondays; confirm holiday exceptions and access to the upper floor before travelling.
Entry feePaid admission. Current booking listings suggest around 20 yuan for a standard adult ticket. The art floor and combination tickets may have separate prices. Check inclusions, concessions and accepted documents before paying; old free-entry information is outdated.
Recommended timeA weekday after 10:00, as part of a wider Xiong’an visit. Displays can become crowded on holidays; arrange guiding and check the upstairs exhibition beforehand.

This exhibition centre is in Rongdong, Rongcheng County, within Xiong’an New Area. The ground floor presents local history and the new city project; the upper floor hosts art exhibitions. It provides an introduction for visitors interested in urban planning and Xiong’an’s development. Created with the involvement of construction group PowerChina, it presents the project from that perspective. Models of the future should not be read as an inventory of completed buildings or services already operating.

Visitors enjoy the models, films and screens that surround them with images of a growing city. Interactive devices appeal to children and help adults understand the concept of above-ground, underground and digital urban infrastructure. The exhibition is small, however: a quick circuit takes about half an hour, while reading explanations and stopping at the displays may take an hour to an hour and a half. Some visitors report dizziness during the moving panoramas. If you dislike such projections, skip that section and focus on the models.

Explanations make a considerable difference. Reviews include a successful visit with a guide booked in advance, while others found no scheduled commentary and looked up information on their phones. Ask about guiding and available languages before travelling rather than relying on an understandable tour on arrival. Several visitors also describe conversations about property purchases with developer representatives. These are unnecessary for an independent visit. Check the current exhibition upstairs as well: the art floor has not been fully accessible at every period described in reviews.

The main criticism is the admission charge for a modest amount of content. It appears in both 2024 reviews and a June 2026 account, so this sample provides no clear evidence that the concern has disappeared. Current booking listings offer a standard adult ticket for around 20 yuan, while combination-ticket prices and inclusions vary. Avoid adding the art floor before checking what is showing and whether your chosen ticket already covers it. Old announcements describing general admission as free no longer reflect the normal arrangement.

A weekday visit after the 10:00 opening is sensible: holidays can feel crowded, although visitors often describe quiet ordinary days. Reserve through the complex’s official WeChat account or a ticket service, checking which identity documents your chosen channel accepts before paying. A taxi is an option; for tourist bus line 1 and the Jinhu Park stop, check the Xiong’an Xing app. The nearby outlet complex offers food options. Do not assume parking is free: reports from different years describe different charging arrangements.
