Silver Sand Beach (Yinshatan) lies on the southwest side of the Phoenix Island resort area in Huangdao District, close to the far busier Golden Beach. It is a natural, crescent-shaped beach about 2 km long, facing the Yellow Sea and backed by black pine forest. Its appeal is the opposite of its neighbour: fewer tourists, fewer buildings and entertainment, finer sand and clearer water. Infrastructure is limited to changing cabins and a few snack points.

Visitors consistently praise the fine, powdery sand, the lack of crowds and the calm atmosphere. The seaside boardwalk is a highlight, especially for morning or evening walks, and some come for the sunrise. At low tide the reef area reveals rock pools with small crabs and scallops, which children enjoy. The flip side: much of the shore is lined with reefs and the waves can be strong, so several visitors call parts of the beach unsuitable or even dangerous for swimming. The water stays cold into June.

Practical tips: combine the visit with Golden Beach and the nearby Golden Beach Beer City, both a short distance away. Plan 1–2 hours, ideally early morning or late afternoon for the boardwalk. Visitors report the beach is free; listed hours are 7:00–17:00 (until 18:00 from mid-August to late September). There is a dedicated but small parking lot that can fill up. Bring water and snacks, since food options are minimal, and water shoes if you plan to explore the rocks.

Common complaints: one recent review found litter and coarse patches of sand, and an older one mentions weak management and touts. Stick to the cleaner sandy stretches, wear footwear on rocky parts and ignore unsolicited offers.
