Restaurant
Chaimen Hui (Pudong)
This outpost of its famed namesake in Chengdu operates in a sleekly furnished space – the centrepiece is no doubt the oversized starburst sculpture over the circular counter. The kitchen is run by a team from the parent restaurant, and their Sichuan menu showcases creative fare and the best produce from around the world. Try the wild-caught yellow croaker braised with pickled chillies, and preserved spare ribs and sausage with Sichuan peppercorns.
Michelin Selected (or "listed") restaurants receive recognition for solid performance but fall short of stars or Bib Gourmand, often noted for competence during travel.
