The Guandi Temple at Yangkou is a Taoist shrine dedicated to Guandi, the deified general venerated as the god of war. It stands in the Yangkou area of Laoshan, close to the upper cable car station, and is considered one of the oldest sanctuaries along this coast.
The main draw is the setting rather than the temple itself: from the upper station there are views over the sea and rocky peaks, and trails lead on to summits including Lion Peak (about 440 m). The scenery is at its best at sunrise and sunset, when the mountains and coastline turn golden.
Plan the temple as a short stop on a walk from the cable car rather than a destination in itself. Allow around half an hour for the shrine, more if you continue to the peaks. We have no data on opening hours or a separate ticket, so check locally.
