Attractions — Qingdao

Laoshan (Mount Lao) is a famous Taoist mountain east of Qingdao, Shandong. It is the highest coastal mountain in China (Jufeng Peak 1133 m), with granite peaks, sea views and dense forests. The mountain’s ancient Taoist temples (e.g. Taiqing Palace), waterfalls and hiking trails make it a top scenic attraction.

Huashi Building is a historic European castle-style villa located at the eastern end of Second Beach in Qingdao's Badaguan Scenic Area. Built with granite and pebbles, it features a unique blend of Greek, Roman, and Gothic architectural styles across five floors with an ocean viewing platform. The building served as a private residence for a Russian merchant, later became the British Consul's residence, and famously hosted Chiang Kai-shek in the 1940s. With an affordable entrance fee of 8.50-10 CNY, it offers panoramic sea views and represents one of Qingdao's most distinctive architectural landmarks. The surrounding area features beautiful gardens and direct beach access, though some visitors note the steep interior stairs and recommend viewing from outside during poor weather.
